DENR taps informal settlers along Bulacan river on “Planet vs. Plastics” IEC campaign

GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Bulacan will conduct on Thursday its “Planet vs. Plastics” Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign for informal settlers living along the Angat River system.
Emelita Lingat, provincial environment and natural resources officer of Bulacan said the IEC campaign will be conducted at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Poblacion in Bustos town starting at 9:00 am.
Lingat explained that Presidential Proclamation 1482 designates the whole month of April as the Philippine Earth Month which aims to promote Earth or Environmental Science while Presidential Proclamation No. 1481 declares the 22nd day of April as the Philippine Earth Day that is dedicated to address the environmental issues in our community.
She noted that the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Bulacan have already conducted several activities as part of its current theme of “Planet vs. Plastics”.
These include a Clean-Up Drive beside the Angat River in Barangay Poblacion, Bustos town on April 19, 2024; Foreign Assisted Special Projects (FASPS) Services of DENR Lecture/Learning Event on April 23, 2024 at the E-Library of Bulacan State University in the City of Malolos City; and the IEC campaign in Bustos town on Thursday.
