Deployment of election paraphernalia in Central Luzon completed by 6:00 am

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Central Luzon has completed the deployment of all election paraphernalia in the region around 6:00 am yesterday (October 30).
This was confirmed to ARKIPELAGO NEWS BULACAN by Atty. Elmo Duque, Comelec Central Luzon spokesman and assistant regional director.
Duque said Central Luzon has 3,105 barangays and a total of 2,873 voting centers.
He said, “As of 7:15 AM [October 30] all 2,873 voting centers in Central Luzon were reported opened for voting.”
All election paraphernalia in Central Luzon were deployed on or about 6:00 am.
On the other hand, Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional police director of Central Luzon, the entire police force in the region has been placed on full alert status as part of comprehensive security measures.
He said over 13,000 security personnel — 10,949 policemen, 1,494 AFP soldiers, 542 Bureau of Fire personnel, and 198 Coast Guards with additional quick reaction forces prepared to respond to any contingencies — were deployed to manage security in all voting centers throughout Central Luzon.
The deployment of the security personnel commenced on October 28 and will continue through election day, ensuring the secured transfer of ballot boxes to the municipal Comelec office.
