CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN, Bulacan — The body of an eight-year-old boy from Caloocan City, who drowned on October 3, was recovered along a riverside in this city at around 3:00 p.m. yesterday (October 6).
The police identified the victim as Daniel Cornelio, a resident of Phase 6, Package 2B, Barangay 178, Camarin, Caloocan City.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim was last seen on October 3 at around 12:00 p.m., playing with friends near a creek in Camarin, Caloocan City. Heavy rains caused the river to swell, sweeping the boy away.
The incident was reported to the local disaster risk reduction and management office in Barangay 178, Camarin, Caloocan City, which immediately launched rescue operations. However, they were unable to locate the boy at the time.
His body was eventually found yesterday afternoon along the riverside near Meycauayan Public Market in Barangay Zamora, Meycauayan City.
