Floodwater affects 98 barangays in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS — A total of 98 barangays were affected by floodwater in Bulacan due to heavy rains enhanced by Typhoon Carina, the rising high tide of Manila Bay, and the water release from Ipo and Bustos Dams.
According to Situational Report No. 8 from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of Bulacan, the floodwater ranged from ground level to as deep as six feet.
Seven towns and one city were affected by the floodwater, with Balagtas town having five villages affected, Bocaue one, Bulakan 11, Calumpit 27, Guiguinto seven, Hagonoy 19, Paombong 14, and the City of Malolos 11.
A total of 691 families or 1,466 individuals were evacuated to 15 evacuation centers in the towns of Balagtas, Bulakan, Calumpit, Guiguinto, Pulilan, Hagonoy, Paombong, and the cities of Malolos and Meycauayan.

Four roads were impassable to all types of vehicles in Marilao town, and all main roads in Obando. Additionally, Dulong Taliptip Road in Bulakan, Panginay Road in Balagtas, and Sto. Niño, San Nicolas, and Sto. Rosario Roads in Hagonoy, as well as the Meycauayan-Marilao Road in the City of Meycauayan, were not passable to light vehicles.
