Illegal firearms dealer arrested in Bulacan

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — An illegal firearms dealer was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in the City of Baliwag on Monday, July 1.

A report reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the suspect as alias Erick, currently residing in Barangay Tarcan in the same city.

According to the report, the Baliwag Police received a tip-off about the suspect’s involvement in illegal firearms dealings in the city. Subsequently, the Baliwag Police organized an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of alias Erick.

Police operatives seized from the suspect a 12-gauge shotgun, a 2.5-cm barrel without a serial number, six pieces of 12-gauge ammunition, and the marked money.

The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were taken to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for ballistic examination. The suspect is now facing criminal charges for violations of R.A. 10591.
