Inagurasyon ng Joni Villanueva Memorial Hospital

Kahit yumao na ang pinakamamahal na punong bayan ng Bocaue, nag-iwan naman siya ng isang proyektong mapapakinabangan ng mga susunod na henerasyon ng Bocaueno at buong lalawigan ng Bulacan.

Pinasinayaan noong Biyernes, May 28, ang Joni Villanueva Memorial Hospital sa Barangay Igulot, Bocaue, Bulacan. Kasabay ito ng paggunita ng unang anibersaryo ng pagpanaw ni Mayor Joni Villanueva. Namayapa siya noong May 28, 2020 dahil sa sakit na sepsis.

Pinangunahan ni Senator Joel Villanueva, kapatid ng alkalde, ang inauguration ceremony. Sinabi niya na pinangarap daw talaga ni Mayor Joni ang pagbubukas ng ospital dahil naniniwala siya na mas marami siyang matutulungang Bulakenyo sa pamamagitan nito.

“Today yung katugunan ng kanyang pangarap. Nakikita ko na, nararamdaman ko na, especially by Monday mapapakinabangan na. It’s extra special,” pahayag ng senador.

Nasa inauguration ceremony din ang naiwang asawa ni Mayor Joni, ang dating CIBAC partylist representative na si Atty. Sherwin Tugna. Ibinahagi niya na magsisilbing magandang alaala ng punong bayan ang ospital.

“Inaalala po natin yung araw ng kanyang pagkawala, sumakabilang-buhay po siya ngunit isang matamis na araw din dahil naisakatuparan po yung kanyang napakatagal nang pangarap na makatulong sa kanyang kababayan dito po sa bayan ng Bocaue, dito po sa lalawigan ng Bulacan,” ayon kay Atty. Tugna.

Kitang-kita ang tatlong palapag na gusaling pagamutan mula sa North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Ito ay may 50-bed capacity at 2,420-square meter floor area. Nakatirik ito sa dalawang ektaryang lupa na donasyon mula sa pamilya Villanueva.

Tinatayang tatlong daang milyong piso ang nagastos para sa konstruksyon ng ospital na isang field extension facility ng Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH). Ang JBLMGH ay isang ospital na pinapatakbo ng Department of Health bilang isang regional medical facility sa Region 3.

Sa ngayon, ang Joni Villanueva Memorial Hospital ay magsisilbi muna bilang step-down facility o pagamutan para sa mga COVID patient na pagaling na o hindi na malala ang kondisyon.

“From the severe cases of JBLMGH na naging mild to moderate COVID cases, pwede na nating dalhin dito. Para naman mabigyan ng chance yung ibang pasyente na may severe cases,” paliwanag ni Dr. Maria Francia Laxamana, Assistant Secretary sa Department of Health.

Bukod sa mga pasyente mula sa Bulacan, maaari rin daw dalhin doon ang mga residente ng Metro Manila at iba pang karatig probinsya. Dagdag pasilidad daw ito para makatulong na gamutin ang maraming pasyente ng COVID-19 na hindi na kayang tanggapin sa ibang ospital.

Dahil sa kanyang magagandang proyekto at tapat na paglilingkod, marami sa kababayan ni Mayor Joni ang hindi pa rin matanggap na siya ay wala na. Nanghihinayang sila sa kanyang magandang nasimulan at programa para sa mga mamamayan ng Bocaue.

Pero kahit wala na si Mayor Joni, ramdam pa rin daw ng mga Bocaueno ang kanyang pagmamahal dahil sa mga iniwan niyang proyekto tulad ng ospital.

Alam daw ng mga Bocaueno kung paano ipinaglaban at pinagsikapan ng kanilang butihing punong bayan na magkaroon ng pampublikong ospital ang Bocaue. Dati raw kasi, kailangan pa nilang magpunta sa mga ospital sa ibang bayan para makapagpagamot. Kadalasan daw ay ni wala silang pamasahe papunta sa ospital. Kaya marami sa kanila ang wala nang magawa kundi magtiis na lang.

Patapos na raw sana ang ospital kung hindi lang nagkaroon ng pandemya at biglaang namayapa ang alkalde.

Ang ospital ay itinuturing na isa sa legacy project ng namayapang alkalde. Bukod kasi rito, nakapagpatayo rin ng iba’t ibang imprastruktura si Mayor Joni tulad ng evacuation center, extension ng munisipyo, mga bagong health center, munisipyo sa Barangay Batia, mga bagong kalsada, at marami pang iba.

Sa kasalukuyan, pinagsisikapan ng pamilya ni Mayor Joni na ipagpatuloy ang mga inisyatibong nasimulan niya.
