Jealousy sparks killing of Obando MDRRMO staff

OBANDO, Bulacan — A 30-year-old man was shot dead in this town on Sunday by his alleged rival over a woman.

Maj. Mark Anthony Tiongson, Obando police chief, identified the victim as Paul Meneses. The suspects were identified as Lemuel, the gunman, and his accomplice, Nomer.

Initial investigations revealed that Meneses, a staff member of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of Obando, was eating at a canteen along M. Jacinto Street, Barangay Paco, around 2:30 am when the suspects arrived on a motorcycle. Lemuel allegedly shot Meneses multiple times, killing him instantly.

Upon receiving the report, the local police launched a hot-pursuit operation in coordination with the Northern Police District. They apprehended and arrested the suspects in Caloocan City.
