GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — The Kadiwa ng Guiguinto Rice for All project, which sells rice at P40 per kilo, was officially launched on December 23 at the proposed new public market, which is planned to be converted into a “Bagsakan” center for agricultural commodities in Barangay Poblacion.
Initially, the Kadiwa ng Guiguinto offers the Sinandomeng brand of good-quality rice at P40 per kilo alongside a variety of wholesale vegetables sold at retail prices.
The project is a collaboration between the Bulacan Ricemillers and Importers Association, Primavera Rice Corporation, the Department of Agriculture, the local government unit of Guiguinto, and Bulacan 5th District Rep. Ambrosio “Boy” Cruz.

Cruz stated that the project is expected to expand to all 64 barangays in the towns of Guiguinto, Balagtas, Bocaue, and Pandi, which comprise the 5th District of Bulacan.
The proposed public market in Guiguinto will eventually be transformed into a “Bagsakan” center for all agricultural products in the 5th District. It is anticipated to serve all six other districts of Bulacan, offering affordable rice, pork, chicken, and vegetables, Cruz noted.
Meanwhile, Raffy Herrera of Primavera Rice Corporation said that once the Department of Agriculture identifies Kadiwa booths in every barangay within the 5th District, these will sell affordable agricultural products on a daily basis.
“Ilalapit natin sa tao ang mga abot-kayang halaga ng mga pagkain,” Herrera emphasized.
