CITY OF MALOLOS – The water level at Angat Dam slightly increased yesterday (October 23) due to the rains brought by tropical storm Kristine, but it remains below the normal high water level.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan, as of 8:00 a.m. yesterday, the water elevation at Angat Dam was recorded at 197.63 meters (M), a slight increase from the previous day’s level of 197.29 M.
However, this is still 12.71 M below the normal high water elevation of 210 M for the wet season. The normal high water level for the dry season is 212 M, while the critical level for Angat Dam is 180 M.
Angat Dam supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila’s raw water, contributes hydropower to the Luzon Grid, and provides irrigation water to around 25,000 hectares of rice fields in Bulacan and parts of Pampanga.
