CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Three children aged 16, 12 and 11 were killed when a lightning struck them on Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Inaon in Pulilan town.
A report reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, the Bulacan police director, identified the victims as Rexter Enriquez, 16 years old; Roxane Enriquez, 12 years old; and April Almorade, 11 years old. They are cousins and residents of Sitio Tangos, Barangay Inaon, Pulilan town.
Initial investigation showed that the three were playing under a mango tree around 3:00 pm when they decided to go home due to a brewing downpour of heavy rains.

As the victims were heading to their houses, a witness claimed that loud thunder followed by a lightning streak was heard and seen and afterwards saw the three lying on the ground.

A parent of one of the victims rushed them to the Dr. Magdalena Reyes Hospital in Barangay Poblacion in the said town where they were eventually declared dead by the attending physician.
