Mother and two kids die in vehicular accident in Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A mother and her two children were killed, while the father sustained injuries, when a truck rammed their vehicle Wednesday night in Angat, Bulacan.
A report reaching Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, regional police director of Central Luzon, identified the victims as Angielyn Herrera, her children Andrie and Sky, aged six and two, respectively, and the injured father, John Jovy. The family resides in Barangay Binagbag, Angat town.

Initial police investigation revealed that the victims were traveling in their vehicle, a white Mitsubishi L300 van with license plate PIE 431, along a sloped portion of Gen. Alejo Santos Highway. A white Howo truck, with license plate NBB 7921 and driven by John Arn De Castro, reportedly experienced a brake malfunction, causing it to move backward and crash into the victims’ vehicle.
The mother and her two children were pinned to death inside their crumpled vehicle, while the father sustained multiple injuries. He was rushed to Norzagaray Public Hospital by the Angat Rescue Team.
The truck driver was arrested and now faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, serious physical injury, and damage to property.
