Multiple murder suspect killed in Pampanga encounter
Mon Lazaro August 20, 2024 at 06:01 PMCAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A notorious gun-for-hire suspect with multiple murder cases in Central Luzon was neutralized by police operatives on Monday in Porac, Pampanga.
Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Benjamin Sembrano, acting Central Luzon regional police director, identified the suspect as Jojo Garcia Fajardo, who was wanted for multiple murder charges and other crimes.
According to Col. Jay Dimaandal, Pampanga police director, Fajardo had evaded capture for six years and was involved in another killing on Sunday. The victim, Edmar Lacsamana, a resident of Barangay Candating, Arayat, Pampanga, was shot by two assailants riding a Kawasaki Barako motorcycle with a sidecar, bearing plate number 1049 KY, which triggered a hot-pursuit operation.
Around 1:50 a.m. on Monday, an informant reported seeing a motorcycle matching the description in the Megadike Extension area.
As police operatives approached the motorcycle being driven by Fajardo, the suspect fled into a grassy area extending to Barangay Cangatba, Porac, Pampanga. A shootout ensued, resulting in the suspect’s death.
Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered a .45 caliber pistol and a cellular phone from the encounter site.
