P14.62 million worth of shabu recovered in Bataan and Zambales

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – Local fishermen recovered approximately 2,150 grams of suspected shabu, valued at Php 14.62 million, in two separate incidents off the coasts of Zambales and Bataan on Monday (October 14), according to a report from the Central Luzon office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The PDEA Zambales office reported that the illegal drugs were spotted floating near Lubang Island around 5:00 PM. The contraband, weighing approximately 1,800 grams and valued at Php 12.24 million, was found by eight fishermen from Barangay Matain in Subic, Zambales, and was packed in two plastic bags.
In a separate incident at around 7:04 PM, a fisherman from Barangay Camaya in Mariveles, Bataan, discovered a plastic bag containing approximately 350 grams of shabu, worth Php 2.38 million.
The recovered illegal drugs were turned over to PDEA offices in Zambales and Bataan and will be transferred to the PDEA National Headquarters for further investigation and profiling.
PDEA officials in Zambales and Bataan have been directed by the regional office to investigate the origin of the drugs and determine if there is any connection between the two incidents.
