CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The “Patulo Gang” siphoned off 50,000 liters of diesel fuel from a tanker abandoned in Pampanga on Friday night.
A belated report released by the Central Luzon Regional Police Office stated that Hero Lacap, area manager of ENP Fuel Trading, reported to the Guagua Municipal Police Station that their company’s fuel tanker truck, with license plate JAO 2872 and driven by Luciano Romasasa (who is still at large), was found abandoned and empty of its 50,000-liter load of diesel fuel worth over P2,000,000. The tanker was discovered along JASA Road in Barangay San Antonio, Guagua, Pampanga.
Police operatives conducted follow-up operations and discovered a fenced vacant lot where a truck with license plate NDD 6453 was parked.

Further investigation revealed that the truck was used in the illegal transfer of the diesel fuel siphoned from the abandoned tanker.
These operations led to the arrest of 18 individuals identified as being involved in the “Patulo” operations.
The police also confiscated five other diesel tanker trucks loaded with an undetermined volume of diesel fuel and a multicab with license plate YDF 379, which contained 24 containers of gasoline.
