Police foils theft of 700 meters of PLDT copper cable wire in Nueva Ecija

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police and village watchmen has foiled the theft of 700 meters by 10 individuals of copper cable wire worth P600,00 in Nueva Ecija early yesterday (May 2).
Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional police director of Central Luzon, said the cable wire belongs to the Philippine Long Distance Telephone company In Barangay Quezon District, Cabanatuan City.
The initial investigation revealed that witnesses reported to the local police that a gang of thieves was in the act of cutting the copper cable wires underneath a manhole in the said barangay.
Local police, together with Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, were able to intercept and arrested nine of them identified only as Mond, Gelo,Ger, Son, Juls, Nante, Jax, Rap, Lon and EJ while a certain Elmer managed to elude arrest.

The suspects are mostly drivers and helpers who are residents of Quezon City and Caloocan City.
