Police nabs 2 Chinese nationals in Bulacan for gun ban violations

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Two Chinese nationals were arrested in a restaurant in San Rafael town on September 30 for possessions of undocumented firearms.

Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the suspects as Cao Jie and Jia Zi Cong who works in a vegetable plantation in Barangay Caingin in the said town.

Initial investigation showed that a concerned citizen informed the local police that the two suspects were noticed carrying short firearms while dining at a local eatery.

Responding policemen conducted a thorough search on the suspects that led to the discovery of a Colt caliber .45 pistol with serial number 793616, with a magazine loaded with six bullets from Cao Jie while an Armscor caliber 9mm pistol with serial number 1360158 with a magazine loaded with nine bullets were found in the possession of Jia Zi Cong.

The two were placed under the custody of the San Rafael Police Station and are facing charges for violations of the Omnibus Election Code and R.A. 10591.
