Police nabs 2 illegal fireworks manufacturers in Bocaue
Mon Lazaro December 18, 2023 at 07:54 PMBOCAUE, Bulacan — Two illegal fireworks manufacturers were arrested in a residential area in this town on Saturday (December 16) afternoon.
Lt. Col. Ronie Pascua, Bocaue police chief, said a certain Rowena and a certain Josell were arrested around 2:30 pm when they were caught in the act of making pyrotechnic products without necessary licenses in Block 7, Lot 105, Northville 5, Barangay Batia in this town.
Confiscated from the suspects were: 20 packs of Roman Candles (100 each pack), two bundles of Roman Candles (500 each bundle), one sack containing 2,000 pieces of unfinished Roman Candles and other paraphernalias in making firecrackers with a total market value of more or less P5,400.
Meanwhile, Lea Alapide, president of the Philippine Pyrotechnics and Manufacturers and Dealers Association Inc., has confirmed that they have been receiving reports of alleged illegal fireworks sellers in Divisoria.
Alapide is advising complainants to forward their grievances against illegal fireworks dealers/retailers to the Explosive Management Division-Firearms and Explosive Office of the Philippine National Police.
