CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Two illegal manufacturers of Five Star firecrackers were arrested in Santa Maria town on Wednesday (December 13) afternoon.

Based on the report submitted to Lt. Col. Jacqueline Puapo, officer in charge of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, the arrested suspects were both 44-year-olds male, one a driver and the other one construction worker, who were caught in the act of manufacturing Five Star firecrackers around 4:00 pm without any permit from proper authorities inside the Bautista Compound in Barangay Balasing in the said town.

The report said a concerned citizen reported the illegal manufacture of firecrackers to the local police who immediately responded and confiscated some 8,000 pieces of Five Star worth P5,000 that were placed inside two sacks.

The two suspects are now facing criminal complaints for violations of RA 7183 .
