CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police operatives have arrested on Friday night three suspected abductors of a 13-year-old male student in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional police director of Central Luzon, said one of the abductors was identified as a certain Elmarie, mother of the victim, and her cohorts as alias Lara and alias Elmer.
Initial investigation showed that the father of the victim reported to the Hagonoy Police Station on Thursday (April 4) evening that his son had left their residence around 3:00 pm to visit a classmate but had not returned.
Later that evening, the father received a phone call from an unknown individual demanding a P3,000,000 ransom for the release of his son.
On Friday night, joint operatives of the Bulacan Police Intelligence Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Group Luzon Field Unit and Hagonoy Police Station conducted an entrapment operation that resulted to the rescue of the victim and the arrest of the three suspects.
It was learned that the victim was coerced by his mother and her associates to stage a kidnapping as part of a revenge scheme against his father and during the ransom handover, the minor was picked up by the family driver at a fast food in Plaridel town.
Authorities recovered the P550,000 ransom money and a black Chevrolet SLX with license plate NEA 5728 that was used by the suspects.
