Police seizes Pla-pla, Kabasi firecrackers in Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Prohibited firecrackers were seized in a fireworks store in Bulacan on Saturday (December 23).
Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Central Luzon regional police director, said the illegal firecrackers was sold by a certain Elmer who was entrapped in a buy-bust operation at a fireworks store inBarangay Sto. Niño, Baliuag City.
The report did not specify if the suspect is the owner or an employee of the fireworks store.
Police were able to confiscate 300 packs of Plapla, 200 packs of Kabasi that are both oversized and prohibited triangular firecrackers. The suspects are now facing charges forviolation of Section 3 of Republic Act 7183 otherwise known as an Act regulating the sale, manufacture, distribution, and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
Hidalgo said the buy-bust operation was conducted in the midst of a series of police inspections of different firecrackers and fireworks establishments in Central Luzon.
“Those who will be caught manufacturing, selling, distributing, or using illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices will face a fine of P20,000 to P30,000, imprisonment of six months to one year, cancellation of license and business permit and confiscation of inventory stocks,” Hidalgo added.
