Prof. Michael “Kel” S. Yanga, president of Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc. (DYCI) in Bocaue, Bulacan, has completed the prestigious Leadership for Social Impact program at the Harvard Kennedy School, making history as the sole Filipino participant among 75 leaders from over 30 countries.
Representing both DYCI and the Philippines on the global stage, Prof. Kel Yanga joined an elite cohort of global changemakers at Harvard University in Boston, USA, from June 2 to 5, 2025. The program, which is the inaugural offering of the Leadership for Social Impact course, is designed to equip mission-driven leaders with tools to drive social innovation, lead with purpose, and build institutions that make a difference.
Prof. Yanga’s participation in the program underscores DYCI’s commitment to its “Magis” philosophy—pursuing greater excellence—and its mission to provide glocal (global + local) education that transforms lives. As the only Filipino in the program, Prof. Yanga brought the voice of Philippine education into high-level global conversations, sharing insights from the country’s education landscape while learning from diverse leaders shaping impact-driven initiatives across the globe.
This achievement also aligns with DYCI’s broader strategic goals of internationalization and its firm support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Prof. Yanga’s presence at Harvard strengthens DYCI’s efforts to create meaningful global linkages while deepening its impact on Filipino youth and underserved communities.
A proud moment for DYCI, Prof. Yanga’s accomplishment highlights how Filipino leadership and educational excellence can shine on the world stage—fueling a future that is globally aware, socially responsive, and deeply rooted in service.
