BULACAN — Authorities have reported two separate incidents involving serious criminal offenses: one involving a fatal shooting allegedly carried out by a retired soldier, and another involving the arrest of a suspected drug dealer caught with over PHP 600,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” and an unlicensed firearm.

Deadly Shootout in Siling Bata, Pandi: Ex-Army Man Nabbed by Police

Tension erupted just before midnight on May 21 in Barangay Siling Bata, Pandi, when a retired military man, identified only as “Manny,” 70, allegedly shot and killed a 53-year-old construction worker known by the alias “Jose.”

Responding officers from the Pandi Municipal Police Station arrived at the scene around 12:30 a.m. on May 22 and found Jose dead, presumably shot with an improvised firearm found in Manny’s possession. The suspect, reportedly a native of Nueva Ecija and a current resident of the area, was arrested on the spot.

Sources say the incident may involve a personal grudge, though authorities have yet to confirm the motive. Manny now faces murder charges and potential violations of RA 10591 (Firearms Law) and the Omnibus Election Code.

Alias “Anok” Arrested for Shabu, Firearms Possession in Guiguinto

Just two hours later, in Barangay Panginay, Guiguinto—some 30 kilometers away—another suspect landed behind bars in a separate bust.

Known by alias “Anok,” the 44-year-old suspect was caught red-handed by the Guiguinto police’s drug enforcement team in a buy-bust operation at 1:45 a.m. on May 22.

Authorities seized 96.42 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated PHP 655,600, along with a loaded .380 caliber pistol and marked buy-bust money. Anok, listed on PDEA’s unified drug watchlist, now faces charges under RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591.

Both suspects are now in custody as police continue their investigations and prepare formal charges.
