SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan – Mayor Mark Cholo Violago announced on Saturday that the town has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the category “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Angels.”
A total of 2,000 individuals dressed as angels participated in the record-breaking attempt, which was held at the Victory Coliseum in the San Rafael Government Center.
The previous record in this category was set on December 1, 2015, in Winnipeg, Canada, during an event organized by the Misericordia Health Center Foundation.
Kazuyoshi Kirimura, a Guinness World Records adjudicator, confirmed that San Rafael had surpassed the Canadian record. The event was also witnessed by Senator Imee Marcos.
Mayor Violago enthusiastically received the Guinness World Records certificate from Kirimura.
“Nag-uumapaw po ang aking galak at pasasalamat sa mahigit 2,000 Anghel na San Rafaeleños at sa lahat ng mga nakiisa sa kauna-unahang “Guinness World Records Attempt” na ito sa kategoryang “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Angels,” Violago said.
