Selfie sa baha kapalit ng ayuda: Mayor Lem Faustino binatikos sa “E-Ayuda Raffle”

Umani ng matinding batikos si Calumpit, Bulacan Mayor Lem Faustino matapos maging kontrobersyal ang paraan ng pamamahagi ng ayuda sa gitna ng matinding pagbaha sa kanilang bayan. Sa halip na agarang tulong, ginawang pa-raffle sa social media ang ₱500 cash assistance sa ilalim ng programang “E-Ayuda ni Mayor Lem.”

Ayon sa mechanics ng nasabing raffle, hinihikayat ang mga apektadong residente na mag-selfie kasama ang kanilang pamilya habang nasa loob ng binahang bahay. Kailangang i-post ang litrato bilang entry, i-tag ang mga kaibigan, at i-share ang mismong raffle post. Sa kabila ng kaliwa’t kanang batikos, ipinaliwanag ni Mayor Faustino na ang “E-Ayuda” ay bahagi ng mas malawak na relief effort ng lokal na pamahalaan. Nilinaw rin niya na naghahatid sila ng ayuda sa bahay ng mga naapektuhan ng kalamidad.

“House-to-house po ang ginawa namin para makapag-abot po ng tulong sa mga kababayan po natin. Ito pong e-ayuda na ito, isa lang po itong pamamaraan para makapag-abot tayo ng tulong.”

Pero marami ang hindi kumbinsido. Ayon sa mga netizen, mistulang ginawang palabas ang pagdurusa ng taumbayan. Exploitation anila ang paggamit ng trahedya para sa social media traction, lalo na’t taon-taon nang suliranin ang pagbaha sa bayan ng Calumpit.

Inanunsyo rin niya na lahat ng sumali sa raffle at nagpost mula 1:00 pm hanggang 5:00 pm ay makakatanggap ng limandaang piso.

“Lahat po ng nag-post ay bibigyan po natin ng tulong,” paniniguro niya.

Nagmungkahi rin ang ilang netizen ng anila’y mas magandang solusyon sa problema.
