CITY OF MALOLOS – January 23 is a special non-working day in Bulacan.

Proclamation No. 769, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin under the authority of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., declares this day in commemoration of the anniversary of the inauguration of the First Philippine Republic, which took place at Barasoain Church in this city.

The proclamation states that it is fitting and proper to give the people of Bulacan the opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.

Katrina Anne Balingit, information officer of Bulacan, announced that Governor Daniel Fernando will lead the commemoration rites at the Barasoain Church compound, with Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra as the guest speaker.
