Toddler drowns in Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A male toddler from San Miguel, Bulacan drowned on Tuesday afternoon, with his body recovered from an irrigation canal the following day.

Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional police director of Central Luzon, identified the victim as Charlie Garcia, one year and nine months old, and a resident of Barangay Mandile in the said town.

Initial investigation showed that Annalie Desama, the victim’s mother, reported that the toddler was playing outside their house around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday while she was taking care of her other child. Moments later, she discovered that the toddler was missing.

She then sought the assistance of barangay officials to search for her missing son. His body was found and recovered the following day, around 1:00 p.m., in an irrigation canal in Sitio Lucong, Zone 6, Barangay Mandile, San Miguel town.
