Two Dead, 18 injured as mini-bus crashes and falls from bridge in Calumpit, Bulacan

CALUMPIT, Bulacan — Two people were killed, and 18 others injured after a mini-bus lost control and crashed along MacArthur Highway in Calumpit, Bulacan, on Tuesday, authorities have confirmed.
Footage shared online showed rescuers working to free trapped passengers using specialized equipment.
Initial police reports suggest the mini-bus experienced brake failure before colliding with a tricycle and several other vehicles, also striking an electric post. The impact killed the tricycle’s driver and passenger, while others sustained injuries.
The bus was traveling from Malolos City, Bulacan, to Apalit, Pampanga, when the incident occurred. Among the injured, at least seven were identified as students from Bulacan State University, according to Student Government President Queenie Quintero.
Emergency teams from Calumpit and Malolos responded swiftly, transporting victims to nearby hospitals. Most were taken to Bulacan Medical Center, while the whereabouts of others are still being verified.

Authorities are withholding the identities of the deceased until their families are notified.
Investigations are ongoing to verify the final number of those involved in the incident.
