Unang batch ng medical frontliner sa Bulacan nabakunahan na

Takot ang nararamdaman ni Cj Fernandez Ramos tuwing papasok siya sa kanyang trabaho. Nurse si Cj sa Bulacan Medical Center. Sa araw-araw na duty niya, pakiramdam daw niya ay nasa hukay ang kanyang isang paa. Anumang oras daw kasi ay maaari siyang mahawa sa nakamamatay na COVID-19.

Pero kahit natatakot, ginagawa pa rin daw niya ang kanyang sinumpaang tungkulin.

“Tuwing naka-duty ako, nangangamba ako na baka ako ay mahawahan ng sakit na COVID-19 at baka madala ko iyun sa aking pamilya. Kaya madalas din na hindi ako umuuwi sa aming bahay,” paliwanag ni Cj.

Dagdag pa ng 34 years old na nurse, isa pa sa kalbaryong kinakaharap ng mga health worker na gaya niya ay ang kakulangan sa kagamitan at pasilidad sa mga pagamutan.

“Puno na ang aming pasilidad at marami kaming nakapila na patients mapa-ICU o ward… para magpa- admit. Eh kahit na gustuhin namin tanggapin ang ibang patient, hindi namin magawa sapagkat wala na kaming paglalagyan sa kanila,” pag-amin ni Cj.

Sinabi rin niya na hindi sapat ang bilang ng mga nurse na naka-duty sa mga ward. Kaya pagod na pagod na raw sila.

Noong Abril 8, lubos ang sayang naramdaman ni Cj nang isa siya sa 605 medical frontliner sa Bulacan na nakatanggap ng pangalawang dose ng COVID-19 vaccine.

Kabilang siya sa unang batch ng health workers na nabakunahan matapos simulan ang #Resbakuna campaign sa probinsya noong Marso 8.

Nasa 22,603 Bulakenyo naman ang nabigyan na ng unang dose ng bakuna kontra sa coronavirus.

Ayon pa kay Cj, napakalaking bagay na nabakunahan na siya dahil kahit paano raw ay mababawasan na ang kabang nararamdaman niya tuwing papasok siya sa ospital. Pero hindi pa rin daw dapat makampante.

“Sa totoo lang, takot pa rin ako…kasi hindi naman ibig sabihin na kumpleto ka na ng bakuna ay hindi ka na magkakaroon ng COVID-19. Pwede pa rin ako magkaroon ng sakit na ‘yun. Kaya alam ko na dapat ay mag-ingat pa rin ako at sumunod sa mga health protocols,” paliwanag ng nurse.

Samantala, nagkaroon ng isang online na pagpupulong noong April 8 ang Provincial Task Force on COVID-19. Sa naturang Zoom meeting, ipinaliwanag ni Dr. Hjordis Maruksha Celis, Provincial Health Officer ng Bulacan, na ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ay may hawak na 38,849 vaccine para sa unang dose. 18,430 dito ay mula sa AstraZeneca at 19,949 naman ang CoronaVac. Natanggap na rin daw ng Bulacan ang 18,900 dose ng CoronaVac para sa ikalawang bakuna.

Para kay Cj, tama lang daw na gawing prayoridad ng pamahalaan ang pagbabakuna sa mga medical frontliner dahil malaki ang kanilang papel sa laban kontra sa COVID-19.

“Kapag ang medical frontliner ang bumagsak… sa tingin ko ay tayong lahat ay babagsak din.”

Bago matapos ang buwan ng Abril, target ng lalawigan ng Bulacan na mabakunahan ang nasa 14,000 medical frontliner.

Ang lalawigan ng Bulacan kasama ang Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite at Rizal ay nasa ilalim ng modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) mula sa April 12 hanggang April 30, 2021.
