Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna, tuloy-tuloy ang aksyon kontra baha sa Bocaue

BOCAUE, Bulacan – Patuloy na inaaksyunan ni Vice Mayor Atty. Sherwin Tugna ang problema ng pagbaha sa Bocaue sa pamamagitan ng kanyang priority project—ang paghuhukay at paglilinis ng mga sapa at daluyan ng tubig sa iba’t ibang barangay para mapabilis ang paghupa ng baha.

Sa isang eksklusibong panayam sa Arkipelago News Bulacan, ibinahagi ni Vice Mayor Tugna ang kanyang ipinapatupad na solusyon sa problemang ito ng kanilang bayan.

“Hindi pa man po tayo tumatakbo at nahahalal bilang pangalawang punongbayan, alam ko na po na ang isa sa suliranin sa ating bayan ay ang mabagal na paghupa ng baha, lalo na kapag may sumapit na malalakas na bagyo. Dahil labing-anim (16) sa labingsiyam (19) na barangay ng Bocaue ay konektado sa ilog natin,” paliwanag ni Tugna.

“In fact, nung mahalal na ako bilang pangalawang punong bayan, lalo na nung dumating ang bagyong Egay noong 2023 na malaki ang naging pinsala sa aming mga kababayan, ay mas lalo kong nakita ang suliranin, kaya habang nagse-session kami ng buong Sangguniang Bayan, nagdeliver ako ng privilege speech sa mga kasamahang Konsehals sa bulwagan,” dagdag pa niya.

Mabilis na kumilos si Tugna, na nakilala bilang “action man,” para makakuha ng backhoe na maghuhukay sa mga creek at sapa sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Bocaue.

“Hanggang sa abot ng aking makakaya, gagawan natin ng paraan na makakuha tayo ng backhoe na maghuhukay sa mga creeks dito sa ating bayan,” saad niya.

Noong Setyembre 2023, opisyal na inilunsad ang proyekto ni Vice Mayor Tugna na “Bilis Hupa Baha” at sinimulan ang paghuhukay at paglilinis ng mga sapa at creek sa Igulot, Bocaue City Mall, Bunlo-Dam, Bihunan-Binang 1st, at Batia Northville V.

Sa kasalukuyan, maraming lugar sa Bocaue ang naipahukay at naipalinis ang mga sapa. Nagdulot ito ng kasiyahan at ginhawa sa mga residente, lalo na sa mga nakatira malapit sa ilog. Pinuri ng mga Bocaueño ang inisyatibo ni Tugna dahil napakalaking tulong ito sa kanila. Kung dati anila ay inaabot ng siyam na araw bago humupa ang baha, ngayon ay nawawala na ito matapos ang ilang araw. Bukod dito, naging mas malinis na rin ang kanilang kapaligiran, na nakakatulong para maiwasan ang sakit dulot ng maruming tubig-baha.

Kasabay ng paghuhukay ng mga sapa at creek na malapit sa ilog, kasama rin sa hinukay at nilinis ang mga National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Roads sa bawat barangay, kabilang ang Bagumbayan, Sulucan, at Bambang.

Bukod sa mga hakbang para maiwasan ang pagbaha, si Vice Mayor Tugna rin ang nagsulong ng ordinansang “Handa sa Baha” sa tulong ng mga konsehal ng Team Solid Lingkod Bayan. Ang batas na ito, na kasalukuyan nang ipinapatupad, ay nagpapatibay sa kahandaan ng Bocaue sa panahon ng tag-ulan. Isinasaad sa batas ang pagsasagawa ng mga aktibidad tuwing buwan ng Mayo ukol sa paghahanda sa baha, pakikipagtulungan, pagboboluntaryo, at pagbabayanihan sa oras ng kalamidad.

Binigyang-diin ni Tugna, na sa tulong ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Bocaue na pinamumunuan ni Mayor Eduardo “Jonjon” Villanueva, mga konsehal ng Team Solid, mga Barangay Chairman at Kagawad, naisasakatuparan ang kanyang mga proyekto para sa kapakanan ng mga Bocaueño.

Kasama rin sa tinutukan ni Tugna ang paglikha ng mga trabaho at pagpapatupad ng mga proyektong pangkabuhayan na malaki ang naitutulong para umangat ang antas ng pamumuhay ng mga Bocaueño. Nakilala rin siya bilang abogado ng masa na nagbibigay ng libreng serbisyong legal, gaya ng legal consultation at notaryo publiko, sa kanyang mga kababayan.

Sa pagtatapos ng panayam, nais iparating ni Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna sa kanyang mga kababayan na nagsisimula pa lang siya at marami pa siyang nakahandang proyekto at programa para sa mga Bocaueño sa darating na panahon.
