Mga balita sa Caloocan

Inilunsad ng tanggapan ni Vice Mayor Karina Teh ang Social Enterprise Program para makapagbigay ng hanapbuhay sa ilang pamilyang nangangailangan.

Sa kanyang Facebook post, sinabi ni Vice Mayor Teh na, “Bilang bahagi ng ating Social Enterprise Program in partnership with Maynilad Water Services, Inc., ay nagkaroon tayo ng Jewelry and Accessory Making Training para sa mga community organization na nakatanggap ng P15,000 worth of materials para umpisahan ang kanilang accessory making business. Simple man ang ating mga programa, tinitiyak natin na ito’y ‘simple pero maganda, simple pero makabuluhan’. Maraming salamat sa DTI for conducting this training.”

Magiging ‘hi-tech’ o moderno na ang waste recycling sa Caloocan sa tulong ng United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Nagbigay ang UNDP ng brand new mobile Material Recovery Facility (MRF) na makatutulong ng malaki sa pag-aasikaso ng basura.

Sinabi ng LGU na ang naturang mobile MRF ay gagamitin ng City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) sa pag-iikot sa lungsod upang mangolekta at magresiklo ng mga basurang hindi nabubulok tulad ng plastic at mga babasagin.

Sa tulong nito ay kakayaning makagawa mula sa basura ng mga matitibay at kapaki-pakinabang na kagamitan tulad halimbawa ng mga upuan na maaaring maibigay sa mga mag-aaral.

Pinasalamatan ng LGU ang UNDP pati na ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) at ang Japanese Embassy sa tulong ng mga ito sa pangangalaga ng kalikasan sa lungsod.

Pinaigting ng lokal na pamahalaan ang pagpapatupad ng tamang segregasyon o pagbubukod-bukod ng basura, gayundin ang masinop na pagkolekta sa mga ito, at ang pagpili sa mga bagay mula sa basura na puwede pang mapakinabangan.

Inasikaso ng City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) ang door-to-door na pagkolekta at maayos na paghihiwalay ng mga basura sa Barangay 164 na sasailalim sa Material Recovery Facility o MRF.

Layunin umano ng hakbangin na gawing mas kapakipakinabang ang mga basura, gayundin ang mga bagay na nabubulok na maaaring ihalo sa mga compost pit upang gawing pataba.

Namigay din ang CEMD ng mga leaflets na nagpapakita ng mga tamang pamamaraan ng segregation at disposal ng mga basura.

Samantala, umabot sa 33 pamilya ang binigyan ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Caloocan ng kani-kanilang maliliit na bigasan business upang matulungan sila at mahikayat na hindi pagtrabahuhin ang kanilang mga anak na bata.

Sinabi ng LGU na ito ay bahagi ng kanilang inisyatibo laban sa child labor o anumang porma ng pag-abuso sa mga bata.

Pinangunahan ng Caloocan Public Employment Service Office (PESO) ang pamamahagi ng naturang mga bigas, na may kasama na ring timbangan at mga plastic bag para sa kanilang pagbebenta ng bigas.

Kabilang ito sa programa ng pamahalaang lungsod para matiyak na mananatiling child-friendly ang Caloocan na kumikilala at nagsusulong sa mga karapatan ng bata.

Ipinagmalaki rin ni Caloocan Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan na ang Caloocan ay marami nang natanggap na pagkilala at parangal dahil sa pagiging child-friendly nito.

Sa iba pang balita, nasa 300 na itinuturing na low at moderate risk drug users ang kabilang sa ika-12 pagtatapos ng Community-Assisted Rehabilitation and Research Outpatient Treatment and Training System – Salubong (CARROTTS-Salubong) ng Caloocan Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CADAO).

Silang lahat ay natulungang ihinto ang paggamit ng iligal na droga at mamuhay bilang mga produktibong mamamayan, sa pag-alalay ng simbahan, mga opisyal ng barangay, at iba pang katuwang sa komunidad.

Isasailalim din sila sa Aftercare Program upang matiyak na hindi na sila muling babalik sa paggamit ng droga.

Samantala, isang sunog sa residential area sa Barangay 28 ang naagapan at agad na naapula nitong October 1.

Ayon sa Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Caloocan City, nangyari ang sunog sa B5, Sawata, Dagat-dagatan, Barangay 28 Caloocan City.

Dakong 1:48 pm nang ganap na maapula ang sunog at idineklarang fire out.
