Trillanes inclined to run as Caloocan Mayor

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is expressing a strong likelihood of running for Caloocan City mayor. During an interview on ANC’s “Headstart,” Trillanes declared his almost certain intention.
“I’m not there yet. Let’s just say that I’m 95 percent going into that direction,” he said.
While leaning towards local politics, he acknowledged that running for a Senate seat is also a possibility.
If Trillanes proceeds with his mayoral candidacy, he will contend with the enduring influence of the Malapitan clan. The city is currently under the leadership of Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan.
Mayor Along succeeded his father, Oscar, in 2022. Oscar Malapitan now serves as the House representative for the city’s first district.
