Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala bowed out of the 2026 Upper Austria Ladies Linz following a hard-fought Round of 16 battle against Jelena Ostapenko.
Eala fell in straight sets, 4-6, 5-7, as Ostapenko mounted a strong comeback to secure the win and advance to the quarterfinals.
Despite the loss, the match showcased Eala’s competitiveness against top-tier opponents. The Latvian star, a former Grand Slam champion, had to rally from a deficit in the second set to seal the victory, highlighting the intensity of their encounter.
