Maris Racal’s film “Sunshine” to premiere in the US

Amid the recent cheating controversy involving Maris Racal and her on-screen partner Anthony Jennings, Racal’s latest film, Sunshine, has been selected for the prestigious Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF). It will be featured under the World Cinema Now section and is set to premiere in the US in January 2025.

The film tells the story of a young gymnast who discovers she is pregnant just as the national team tryouts approach.

The film first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received a nomination for Best Youth Film at the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards last October.
