Pagbubukas ng kauna-unahang mega vaccination site sa lalawigan ng Rizal naging daan sa pagkakaisa kontra COVID-19

Isang mahalagang araw para sa mga residente ng lalawigan ng Rizal ang August 23, 2021 dahil sa araw na ito binuksan ang kauna-unahang mega vaccination site sa SM San Mateo, Rizal.

Pinangunahan ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaang nasyonal tulad ni presidential spokesperson Harry Roque ang pagbubukas ng vaccination site na ibinalitang nasa 30 milyong Pilipino na ang nabakunahan sa bansa sa loob ng limang buwan.

Matatandaang nasa 600,000 Sinovac vaccine na bigay ng China sa Pilipinas nagsimula ang vaccination program ng pamahalaan noong March 1, 2021

“Habang natatapos na po ang pagbabakuna sa Metro Manila, nagkasundo na po ang mga mayor na tutulong na po sila sa mga karatig na mga lugar nang sa gayon lahat ng Metro Manila Plus 8 ay magkaroon na ng population protection,” pahayag pa ni Roque

Sa panayam ng Arkipelago News kay Metro Manila Development Authority o MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia, halos dalawang buwan din ang kanilang naging paghahanda para maisakatuparan ang proyektong ito sa tulong ni dating Rizal governor Jun Jun Ynares, SM supermalls senior vice president for operations Bien Mateo, National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., NTFAC Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vince Dizon at MMDA Chairperson Benhur Abalos, Jr. na lubos na pinasalamatan ni Garcia sa kaniyang talumpati dahil inuna nito ang bayan ng San Mateo sa mga itinalagang lugar para magkaroon ng isang mega vaccination site.

Kuwento pa ni GM Garcia sa Arkipelago, mahalaga ang papel na ginagampanan ng mega vaccination site na ito sa Rizal, dahil bukas ang bakunahan di lamang para sa mga residente ng lalawigan, pwede rin magpabakuna rito ang mga residente mula sa mga adjacent locality tulad ng Quezon City at Marikina City para sa tinatawag na ‘herd immunity’.

“Sabi nga niya (Abalos) sa amin ang utos, tapusin natin ang NCR sa pagbabakuna at magvacc as one tayo kasama ang ating mga kapitbahay,.” sabi pa ni Garcia sa kaniyang talumpati.

Pinasalamatan naman ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte sa kaniyang talumpati, ang proyektong ito nila Garcia dahil malaki ang maitutulong nito sa decongestion ng kanilang mga vaccination center.

“Ako po ay nagpapasalamat at mayroon nang bakunahan dito sa SM San Mateo, dahil ito po ay kapitbahay ng aming Barangay Batasan Hills. Dahil madaming nagpapabakuna doon, hindi na namin kaya, dito ko na po papapuntahin. Pero kapag napuno naman po dito, welcome na welcome po ang ating kapitbahay dito na pumunta sa lungsod Quezon,” pasasalamat ni Belmonte.

Binigyang diin naman ni Marikina Mayor Marcy Teordoro ang kahalagahan ng ng bayanihan at kooperasyon ng mga local government unit o LGU sa panahon ng pandemya.

“That’s what’s important — that we are here together, in solidarity, in unison, and in community, with one another. Tulung-tulong po tayo laban sa COVID-19. Hindi po pupuwedeng isipin natin ang sarili lang, kundi dapat isipin natin ang bawat isa po,” paalala ni Teodoro.

Ito rin ang tema ng naging pahayag niNTFAC Secretary Vince Dizon, sa kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa ng iba’t ibang LGU para tuluyang matapos ang problema ng bansa sa COVID-19.

“Ngayon po kailangan na ang NCR at kanyang mga karatig-probinsya, tulad ng Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna na magtulung-tulong na, kailangan magsama-sama na kasi itong problema natin lalo na sa surge ngayon ng Delta, eh problema po nating lahat ‘yan,” paliwanag ni Secretary Dizon.

Maging si Mateo ng SM Supermalls ay nagsabing isang karangalan para sa kanilang kumpaniya na maging bahagi ng proyekto. Dagdag pa ng senior vice president for operations ng SM ay nasa 69 SM mall na ang ginagamit ng bansa bilang mga vaccination site. Bida pa ng opisyal, mahigit sa 2.5 million jabs na ang naibigay sa loob ng iba’t ibang SM mall.

“We at SM supermalls remain committed to work with the national government and our LGUs and private sectors, and the public to overcome this crisis and put an end to COVID-19,” ayon pa kay Mateo

Sa pagtatapos ng panayam ng Arkipelago News kay Jojo Garcia, naging emosyonal ang general manager ng MMDA dahil aniya, bukod sa malapit sa kaniyang puso ang proyekto dahil maraming kababayan niya sa San Mateo at Rodriguez, Rizal ang makikinabang dito, tila naging daan sa pagbubukas ng SM San Mateo mega vaccination site sa naging kasunduan ng mga alkalde ng Metro Manila na kanilang bubuksan ang kani-kaniyang mga vaccination site sa mga residente ng mga katabing bayan at probinsya bilang pagbibigay suporta at pakikiisa ng nasasakupang lungsod sa paglaban sa nakamamatay na COVID-19.

Pagtatapos pa ni Garcia, ang pagbubukas ng kauna-unahang mega vaccination site sa lalawigan ng Rizal ay naging saksi sa pagkakaisa ng national government, local government at private sector (SM supermalls) sa laban pa rin ng bansa kontra COVID-19.

Sinisimulan na rin ang pakikipag-usap ng grupo nila Garcia at Ynares sa ikalawang magiging mega vaccination site sa Rizal na nakatakdang itayo sa Antipolo City.
