Retired Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio will serve as guest speaker at the 10th anniversary Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony of the National Youth Movement for West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS), happening on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Manila Prince Hotel.
Themed “Ten Years of Unwavering Commitment for the Preservation of Philippine Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity,” the event will honor NYMWPS’s decade-long advocacy for Philippine sovereignty and raise funds for outreach programs benefiting military personnel, civilian residents, and fisherfolk in the Kalayaan Islands Group and Scarborough Shoal.
The National Youth Movement for West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS) is a peaceful, transglobal organization advocating for the preservation of Philippine sovereignty and territorial integrity. It aims to instill patriotism among Filipino youth, raise public awareness on West Philippine Sea issues, and support sectors directly affected—such as military personnel, civilian residents in the Kalayaan Islands Group, and fisherfolk in Masinloc and nearby coastal towns. NYMWPS also works to protect the region’s vital natural resources, including marine life, oil, and gas.
Joining virtually as guest of honor is Atty. Loida Nicolas Lewis, a prominent Filipino-American civic leader based in New York City.
The evening will also feature live performances from celebrated Filipino artists including West End sensation Ima Castro, Retro Pop King JMRTN, Feed Hungry Minds founder ARPIE, and Rivermaya guitarist Kakoy Legaspi.
Proceeds will support NYMWPS’s annual gift-giving and medical missions for over 800 families and personnel in Pag-asa Island, Ayungin Shoal, and Masinloc, Zambales.
