QUEZON CITY — A man was apprehended by the National Bureau of Investigation’s Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-OTCD) on May 19, in Quezon City for allegedly coercing his former girlfriend into resuming their relationship under threat of releasing intimate videos.
According to the NBI, the suspect had been threatening to distribute explicit videos of the complainant to her family unless she agreed to rekindle their romantic relationship. The complainant reported the threats, prompting the NBI-OTCD to initiate an entrapment operation.
The suspect directed the complainant to meet him at an establishment in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. During their meeting, he persisted in pressuring her to resume their relationship, stating he would only delete the compromising videos if she accompanied him to her condominium for sexual intercourse. He faces charges of Grave Threats under Article 282 and Grave Coercion under Article 286 of the Revised Penal Code. Additionally, he is charged with violations of Sections 5(e), 5(g), and 5(i) of Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), and Section 4(a) of R.A.
