Tatlumpu’t walong (38) empleyado na naglilingkod sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan ang pinagkalooban ng permanenteng posisyon.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ni Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan nitong araw ng Linggo, March 12, binati at pinuri ng alkalde ang mga kawaning nagbibigay ng mahusay na serbisyo sa mga mamamayan ng Caloocan.

“Malugod ko pong binabati ang mga kapwa ko lingkod bayan na napromote at nabigyan ng regular na posisyon sa ating Pamahalaang Lungsod.”

“Sila po ay pumasa sa Civil Service Exam at iba pang mga pagsusulit ng pamahalaang nasyonal habang ang iba naman po ay itinanghal na Outstanding Employees. Ipinamalas po nila na sila ay may angkop na kakahayahan at karapat-dapat sa ating pamahalaan,” ayon kay Malapitan.

Samantala, naihalal si Councilor Carol Cunanan bilang National Treasurer ng Philippine Councilors League (PCL) sa ginanap na 11th National Convention ng liga ng mga konsehal sa bansa sa World Trade Center, noong March 11.

Panauhing pandangal sa PCL convention si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos. Pinangunahan din niya ang oath-taking ceremony ng 27 na bagong opisyal ng PCL. Sa kanyang talumpati, pinaalalahanan niya ang bawat isa na pigilan ang sarili sa paggawa ng corruption.

“Remember as public servants, we must uphold transparency [and] accountability in all our work. Apart from inhibiting yourselves from corrupt practices, I also urge you to avoid unjust and dangerous acts that put the bureaucracy in a state of decay,” ayon sa pangulo.

Mahigit labing-isang ibong konsehal mula sa iba’t ibang bayan at lungsod sa bansa ang dumalo sa naturang pagpupulong at nakilahok sa eleksyon ng mga bagong opisyal. Isang malaking karangalan para sa Lungsod ng Caloocan na manalong National Treasurer ng PCL si Konsehal Carol Cunanan.

Bukod sa eleksyon ng mga mamumuno sa PCL, tinalakay rin sa convention ang best practices sa mga bayan na pwedeng tularan, pagpapalakas ng mga programang makakatulong sa mga mamamayan at marami pang iba.

Sa balitang pangkalusugan, tuloy-tuloy pa rin sa pagbibigay ng libreng serbisyong medikal ang Caloocan City Health Department. Noong Biyernes, March 11, inanunsyo sa Facebook page ni Mayor Along Malapitan ang schedule at venue ng libreng chest x-ray sa iba’t ibang health center sa lungsod. Isasagawa ito ngayong buwan ng Marso bilang pakikiisa ng lungsod sa World TB Day. Dati nang ginagawa at naging bahagi na ng serbisyong pangkalusugan ni Malapitan ang naturang proyekto.

“Ang maagang pagtuklas ng sakit na tuberculosis ay mahalaga upang ito’y agarang magamot at maagapan,” ayon sa pahayag ng Punong Lungsod.
