Sapat na nutrisyon at trabaho para sa mga kabataan ng Caloocan

Nakikiisa ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Caloocan sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Nutrisyon ngayong Hulyo na may temang “Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable for All.” Inilunsad din ng LGU ang Special Program for Employment of Students o SPES para mabigyan ng trabaho ang mga estudyante at out of school youth.

Sapat na nutrisyon para sa mamamayan
Pinangunahan ng Caloocan City Nutrition Committee ang proyektong ito na naglalayong wakasan ang malnutrisyon sa Caloocan at tiyakin na napapangalagaan ang kalusugan ng mga mamamayan.

Ayon kay Aubrey Malapitan, maybahay ni Mayor Along Malapitan at Nutrition Officer ng lungsod, isa sa kanilang proyekto ay ang pagsasagawa ng nutrition education sa bawat barangay at paaralan. Ginagabayan din nila ang mga senior citizen at mga buntis tungkol sa tamang pagkain, at paghahanda ng mga bago at masusustansyang putahe.

Dagdag pa ni Aubrey Malapitan, hinihikayat niya ang mga taga-Caloocan na magkaroon ng food garden sa bawat bakuran upang magkaroon ng sariwa, maayos, at murang pagkain. Ang pagkakaroon ng sapat at maayos na nutrisyon ay isa sa mga prayoridad ng Punong Lungsod para sa kanyang mga constituents.

800 na kabataan sumailalim sa SPES program ng PESO
Sumailalim ang 800 kabataan sa Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) ng Public Employment Service Office ng Lungsod ng Caloocan.

Ayon sa pamahalaang lungsod, ang programang SPES ay isinagawa sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Labor and Employment at para ito sa mga estudyante at out of school south. Layunin ng pagsasanay na madagdagan ang kaalaman at kasanayan ng mga kabataan bilang paghahanda sa kanilang trabaho. Itatalaga sila sa iba’t-ibang tanggapan sa Caloocan City Hall – North at South kaya’t makakasama rin sila sa paglilingkod sa mga mamamayan.

Nagpasalamat naman si Mayor Along Malapitan sa Department of Labor and Employment na katuwang ng pamahalaang lungsod para maging matagumpay ang nasabing programa.
