CITY OF MALOLOS — The Department of Trade and Industry monitored that there are rice sellers at the price of P41-P45 per kilo in the Malolos Town Market this Tuesday.
On this day the implementation of Executive Order (EO) 39 began which states that regular milled rice should be sold at P41 per kilo and well milled rice should be sold at P45 per kilo.

Lebby Estrella of DTI-Bulacan led the monitoring of the said market.
He said, they also monitored someone selling rice at a higher price but they are premium rice that is not included in the rice price cap of EO 39.
Estrella also said that they will continue monitoring rice retailers in various towns and cities of Bulacan in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Ray Nerson Romero, information officer of DTI Central Luzon, explained that, “As of now… DTI is doing profiling … on rice retailers.”
Romero went on to say that, “The monitoring and enforcement is with the DA…They are the lead when it comes to the enforcement of EO29.”
