Sanggunian Panglungsod nagtamo ng 91% rating sa DILG Local Legislative Award; OVM, Maynilad at MWSS maglulunsad ng GAD programs

Ginawaran ng parangal ng Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) ang Sangguniang Panglungsod (City Council) ng Caloocan dahil nakakuha ito ng mataas na 91% overall rating sa 2023 Local Legislative Award (LLA).

Ayon sa DILG, “The Award recognizes the exemplary performance of Sanggunians, particularly of cities and municipalities, for legislating measures that help build the foundation of meaningful local administration and development. (Ang Parangal na ito ay pagkilala sa katangi-tanging pagganap ng tungkulin ng mga Sanggunian, lalo na ng mga lungsod at munisipalidad, sa pagpapatibay ng mga batas na nagpapatatag sa lokal na pamamahala at kaunlaran).

Bilang presiding officer ng Sanggunian ay tinanggap ni Vice Mayor Karina Teh ang nasabing parangal sa ngalan ng mga konsehal ng lungsod.

Ayon kay Vice Mayor Teh sa kaniyang Facebook account, “Ang parangal na ito ay ating nakamit dahil sa pagtutulungan ng Office of the Vice Mayor, City Councilors, Sanggunian Secretariat, at siempre dahil sa suporta ng ating Punong Lungsod.”

“Patuloy natin paiigtingin ang antas ng serbisyo ng Sangguniang Panlungsod, “ dagdag niya.

Samantala, tumayong ka-partner ang Office of the Vice Mayor ng Caloocan sa kasunduan ng Maynilad at Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) para sa pagsasagawa ng mga Gender and Development (GAD) Programs sa iba’t ibang komunidad sa lungsod.

Pinasalamatan ni Vice Mayor Karina Teh sina Mr. Randolph Estrelado (Chief Operating Officer ng Maynilad Services Inc.), Mr. Patrick (Chief Regulator ng MWSS) at Atty. Claudine Orocio-Isorena (Deputy Administrator for Legal Affairs ng MWSS) para sa naturang hakbangin.

Sinabi ni Vice Mayor Teh na ang gender and development ay kabilang sa kaniyang mga pangunahing adbokasiya kaya patuloy siyang nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga pampubliko at pribadong tanggapan na makakatulong sa pagsasagawa ng GAD programs sa Caloocan.

Nagpasalamat din ang bise alkalde na kabilang siya sa mga naimbitahan sa 2023 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayor’s Forum na ginanap sa Brisbane, Australia nitong Oktubre.

Ang naturang event na inorganisa ng Brisbane City Council at may temang “Shaping Cities for our Future” ay may layuning palakasin at iangat ang pagtutulungan ng mga lokal na opisyal ng iba-ibang bansa sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa publiko.

Dinaluhan ito ng mahigit 1,000 na mayor at iba pang matataas na opisyal ng 130 lungsod mula sa iba’t ibang bansa.
