Barangay Captain Jay Arcaina, ikatlo sa kasalukuyang nanunungkulan sa Barangay 123 na nasawi

Ikinagulat ng Barangay 123 sa Caloocan nang kumalat ang balitang namayapa na si Barangay Chairman Jay Arcaina noong December 4 ng gabi. Nakasaad sa kanyang death certificate na ang time of death ay 8:50 pm at ang cause of death ay “Pontomesencephalic Hemorrhage.”

Ayon sa mga residente ng barangay at mga kaanak ng nasawi, mabilis at biglaan ang pagkamatay ni Kap Jay. Wala naman daw malalang sakit ang 47 anyos na opisyal. Ano nga ba ang dahilan ng kanyang biglaang pagpanaw?

Noong Disyembre 4, araw ng Linggo, nakatakda sana ang regular na pagpupulong ng mga opisyal ng Barangay 123 bandang alas-diyes ng umaga. Pero bago raw nagsimula ang meeting, lumabas daw ang kapitan at tila pupunta sa kalapit na tindahan. Ayon pa sa mga nakasaksi, nakita raw nila si Arcaina na mabagal na naglalakad at mukhang babagsak kaya inalalayan nila ito sa pag-upo.

Nagsabi raw si Kap Jay na nahihilo siya kaya nagpakuha sila ng tubig. Ilang sandali pa raw ay may dumating na barangay tanod na may dalang gamot sa high blood at ipinainom sa kanya. Napansin din daw ng mga tumulong sa kanya na nangingiwi ang kanyang mukha at tila naninigas ang kanyang mga paa at hita.

Paliwanag pa ng ilang nakasaksi, lahat daw ng sasakyan na pwede nilang magamit ay ayaw umandar sa oras na iyon. Flat din daw ang gulong ng barangay patrol. Mabuti na lang daw at may napadaan na residente at doon nila isinakay si Kap Jay. Sa tantiya ng mga nakakita, mahigit trenta minutos ang lumipas bago nadala sa Chinese General Hospital ang Barangay Captain.

Makalipas ang ilang oras sa ospital, nagdesisyon daw ang mga doktor na isagawa sa kanya ang intubation o paglalagay ng tubo sa katawan ng pasyente dahil nahihirapan siyang huminga. Pero bago sumapit ang ika-siyam ng gabi, sa araw ding iyon, binawian na ng buhay si Kapitan Jay Arcaina. Ang “Pontomesencephalic Hemorrhage” na sinasabing dahilan ng kanyang pagkamatay ay pagputok ng ugat at pagdurugo sa loob ng utak. Bunga raw ito ng matagal na at hindi nakontrol na high blood pressure. Delikado at nakamamatay raw ang kondisyon na ito.

Nagluluksa ang mga residente ng Barangay 123 sa pagpanaw ng inilarawan nilang mabait at mapagpakumbabang Kapitan. Si Kap Jay ang ikatlo sa kasalukuyang nanunungkulan sa Barangay 123 na nasawi. Ayon sa mga residente, ngayon lang daw nangyari na tatlong opisyal ng kanilang barangay ang namatay at sa magkakasunod pang taon. Namayapa si Kagawad Tess Galoso noong 2020. Sa sumunod na taon naman nasawi si Kagawad Jimmy Tan, at si Kapitan Jay noong December 4, 2022.

Naiwan na ulilang lubos ang dalawang anak ng kapitan dahil namayapa na rin ang kanyang asawa ilang taon na ang nakalilipas. Naglabas naman ng mensahe ang panganay na anak ni Kapitan Jay.

“Malungkot naming ipinapaalam na kami ay lubusang naulila ng aming tatay, ang kapitan ng Brgy. 123, na si Kap. Jay Arcaina.

Sa lahat ng aming kamag-anak, at kaibigan, ang labi ng aming tatay ay nakaburol sa aming barangay sa labas lang ng aming tahanan sa Magsaysay Street, Brgy. 123, East Grace Park, Caloocan City.

Kulang ang mga salita upang ipadama ang magkahalong sakit sa paglisan ng aming tatay at pasasalamat sa mga nagpapadama ng kanilang suporta sa aming dalawang magkapatid.
