Coffee shop sa Cainta, Rizal wala sa gusali kundi nasa motorsiklo

Hindi nakatayo sa isang magarang establisyemento ang kapehan ni Khen Bryan Santiago. Nakaparadang motorsiklo sa tabing kalsada ng Cainta ang nagsisilbi niyang pwesto.

Dahil daw sa mahal ng upa sa mga tindahan at kakulangan sa pera, naisipan ni Khen na gamitin na lang kung ano ang mayroon siya at ‘yon ang kanyang motorsiklo. Nakaparada raw siya sa A. Bonifacio Avenue, Cainta, Rizal, sa tabi ng Banco De Oro at Shell gas station.

Sa panayam ng Arkipelago News kay Khen, ikinuwento niya kung paano naging bahagi ng buhay niya ang pagtitimpla ng kape.

Ayon kay Khen, dati raw siyang Overseas Filipino Worker sa Malaysia at Dubai. Sa parehong bansa nagtrabaho siya bilang isang barista. Nang umuwi sa Pilipinas, ito pa rin ang kanyang naging hanapbuhay.

Pero dahil daw sa pandemya nagdesisyon daw siyang tumigil bilang empleyado at magsimula ng sarili niyang negosyo.

“OFW po ako ma’am. Dati head barista po ako sa Malaysia tapos head barista (sa) Dubai. Then pag-uwi ko po dito sa Pilipinas head barista din po ako sa isang restaurant sa Eastwood. Tapos noong nag-pandemic po nag-resign ako at nag-try po ako magtayo ng milktea shop pero dahil po pandemic at marami na rin pong milktea shop and malayo rin po sa Teresa rizal yung pwesto ko ayun po nalugi.”

Pero kahit nalugi raw si Khen sa kanyang unang pagsabak sa negosyo itinuloy niya pa rin ang pagiging entrepreneur, at doon nagsimula ang Yarro Café. Ang kanyang coffee shop na nasa motorsiklo.

“Dahil po nauubos na yung ipon ko at gusto ko na po talagang kumita don na po ako nag-try ng pop up coffee shop po. Don na dumating si Yarro Cafe. Para po may pangbayad sa mga bills like kuryente, tubig at pambili na rin po pang araw-araw na pagkain,” paliwanag ni Khen.

Dahil sa kakaiba niyang diskarte, maraming tao ang napapahinto at bumibili ng mainit niyang kape.

Isa si Jhannah Ramos sa napahanga ni Khen at ng kanyang Yarro Cafe. Mura, sulit at napakasarap daw ng itinitindang kape ni Khen.

Ipinaliwanag ni Jhannah sa Arkipelago News ang kanyang naramdaman nang una niyang makita ang coffee shop sa motorsiklo ni Khen.

“Noong unang nakita ko sya naawa ako, na-amaze, kasi first naawa ako kasi naiisip ko parang ang hirap mabili nong iced coffee sa ganun kasi sa dami ng coffee shop ngayon. Tapos ganun yong pwesto nya nasa kanto lang. Pero presentable naman malinis, maayos sya. Tapos sabi ko sa isip ko mabili kaya si Kuya. Second na-amaze ako kasi kahit sobrang hirap na dumidiskarte sya. Wala sa kanya iyong salitang hiya basta kumikita sya don sya. Napakaayos pa nya mag-entertain ng customer.”

Ayon kay Khen, hindi raw madali ang pagtitinda gamit lang ang motorsiklo dahil kalaban daw niya ang init ng panahon, pag-ulan at ang pagbibitbit ng maraming gamit na kailangan sa tindahan.

Dagdag pa niya, hindi lang daw mainit na kape ang hatid ng Yarro Cafe, handog niya rin daw dito ang nag-iinit na pagmamahal sa pagbabarista at pagsusumikap sa negosyo sa kabila ng kinakaharap na pandemya.

“Huwag mong isipin na matapang ang kape, isipin mo na matapang ka dahil sa mga pagsubok na pinagdadaanan mo patuloy ka pa ring lumalaban.”

Lubos din ang pasasalamat ni Khen sa mga suki niyang customer na patuloy na tumatangkilik sa Yarro Cafe. Hiling daw niya na patuloy pa raw sanang suportahan ang mga maliliit na negosyante katulad niya. Dahil sa tuwing bibili raw tayo sa kanila, nakakatulong tayong matupad ang mga pangarap nila.
