HVI drug suspect, two others arrested in Bataan sting

ORANI, BATAAN — A high-value individual (HVI) drug suspect and his two cohorts were arrested in a buy-bust operation in this town on Monday (January 19).

An official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bataan Provincial Office identified the HVI as alias JM and his cohorts as alias Poy and alias Mike, who were entrapped around 9:02 p.m. in Barangay Tugatog in this municipality.

Authorities confiscated four plastic sachets containing more or less 11 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱74,800, assorted drug paraphernalia, a smartphone, and the buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects are now facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the confiscated suspected shabu was forwarded to the PDEA-3 laboratory for forensic examination and confirmation.

The drug sting was also conducted with the support of the PDEA Bataan Seaport Interdiction Unit, the Bataan PPO Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Orani Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit.
