Police seize P4.45 million worth of marijuana in buy-bust operation in Caloocan City

CALOOCAN CITY – Authorities seized Php 4.45 million worth of marijuana in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Caloocan City Police on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Block 2 Lot 20, Mentors Village Subdivision, Barangay 175, Caloocan City.
According to the Caloocan City Police, two high-value target suspects were arrested: a 27-year-old male from Mentors Village Subdivision and his 21-year-old companion from Deparo, Caloocan. The operation involved a transaction with an undercover operative, which led to their apprehension.
34 marijuana bricks (34,000 grams) worth Php 4,080,000 were seized by the authorities along with 1 plastic bag containing 50 grams of high-grade marijuana (“kush”) worth Php 70,000, 3 plastic bags containing dried marijuana leaves, stalks, and tops (2,300 grams) worth Php 276,000, and 1 small marijuana brick (230 grams) worth Php 27,600.

The suspects were arrested after being caught selling the drugs during the operation. In addition to the drugs, authorities also seized Php 15,000 in genuine currency, along with buy-bust money, including one real Php 500 bill and 13 counterfeit Php 1,000 bills.
The arrested individuals are currently detained at the Caloocan City Police Station for documentation and further investigation. The seized evidence has been submitted to the NPD Forensic Unit for examination.
The suspects were arrested for violating Section 11 of Article 2 of RA 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs).
