MARIKINA CITY — Marikina 1st District Representative Maan Teodoro continues to expand her health initiatives by organizing a medical mission and a free anti-rabies vaccination drive for residents of Barangay Nangka. The initiatives aim to ensure accessible healthcare services and promote responsible pet ownership in the community.
The medical mission, held at NHA 1 in Barangay Nangka, provided free consultations, medicines, dentures, and eyeglasses to residents. It also accommodated requests for free laboratory diagnostic tests, making essential healthcare services more accessible to the public.

Encouraging residents to take advantage of the program, Teodoro emphasized the importance of inclusive healthcare. “Magpatingin nang libre at kumuha ng libreng gamot—dahil walang dapat mapag-iwanan pagdating sa kalusugan,” she said in a Facebook post.
This initiative is part of Teodoro’s broader efforts to strengthen health services in Marikina. Medical missions have been conducted in 16 barangays, focusing on providing free consultations, particularly for children, mothers, and senior citizens.
Promoting Responsible Pet Ownership
In addition to the medical mission, Teodoro also spearheaded a free anti-rabies vaccination drive for pets in Barangay Nangka. The program aims to safeguard both animals and their owners from the risks of rabies while reinforcing responsible pet ownership.
“Bahagi ng ating libreng bakuna ay bigyang diin at palakasin ang responsible pet ownership at panatilihing ligtas ang ating furbabies at pet owners laban sa rabies,” Teodoro stated.

This initiative aligns with Marikina’s ongoing efforts to promote animal welfare. The local government offers free daily anti-rabies vaccinations for pets across all barangays and encourages pet registration to ensure public health and safety.
Teodoro highlighted the benefits of registering pets with the City Veterinary Office (CVO), which grants access to free anti-rabies vaccinations. Pet owners also receive vaccination cards to track their pets’ immunization schedules, ensuring they receive timely shots.
Through these health initiatives, Teodoro continues to advocate for accessible healthcare and animal welfare, reinforcing her commitment to the well-being of Marikina residents and their pets.
