Two nabbed in Navotas drug bust; P69,768 worth of shabu seized

NAVOTAS CITY, Philippines – Two individuals were arrested early Tuesday during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Navotas City Police Station. Authorities seized an estimated Php 69,768 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” during the raid.
The operation took place at around 4:04 AM along Babanse Street in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) Kaunlaran, Navotas City.
Conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Navotas City Police apprehended two suspects: a 35-year-old identified as alias “Nonoy,” a suspected drug pusher, and a 45-year-old identified as alias “Jonjon,” an alleged drug user. Both are residents of Navotas City.
Recovered from the suspects were 10.26 grams of suspected shabu, valued according to the standard drug price set by authorities.
The suspects now face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. 9165).
Northern Police District (NPD) Officer-in-Charge, PCOL Josefino D. Ligan, lauded members of the Navotas City Police for their swift action.
“This operation highlights our dedication to ridding our communities of illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and security of the people we serve,” said Ligan.
He also emphasized that the operation adhered to the directive of PNP Chief PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil to intensify anti-drug campaigns while respecting human rights.
“This accomplishment reinforces our commitment to PGEN Marbil’s directive of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs, ensuring that every operation is conducted with utmost respect for human rights and the dignity of every individual,” Ligan added.
