Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay – blood donation project ni Kagawad Jeannie Ate J Nieto

Muling inaanyayahan ni Kagawad Jeannie “Ate J” Nieto ang publiko na magdonate ng dugo sa pagpapatuloy ng kanyang blood donation program sa September 23, 8am-2pm, sa Bocaue Municipal Covered Court.

Layunin ng proyektong makatulong sa mga nangangailangan ng dugo. Libre itong ipinamimigay sa mga Bocaueño.

“Lahat po ng donated blood ay dinadala sa Malolos Provincial Blood Bank Center at ipinapamahagi sa bawat Bocaueño na nangangailangan ng dugo ng walang bayad,” paliwanag ni Ate J.

Simple lang ang dapat gawin para makakuha ng libreng dugo ayon kay Kagawad Jeannie.

“Sa bawat nangangailangan ay ibinibigay ito ng libre basta maipasa lamang nila ang request mula sa kanilang doktor. At ako po mismo ang nag-eendorso. Magbibigay ako ng endorsement letter sa Malolos Provincial Blood Bank Center upang kanilang iproseso,” paliwanag ni Nieto.

Ginagawa ang blood letting project apat na beses sa isang taon. Masaya si Ate J dahil sa pagkakataong ito nakabalik na sa pagsisilbi si Mayor Jonjon Villanueva at sinusuportahan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Bocaue ang kanyang proyekto. Nagpapasalamat din siya sa tulong at suporta ni Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna.

Taong 2020 o sa panahon ng panunungkulan ni Mayor Joni Villanueva-Tugna nang magsimula ang proyekto. Ayon kay Kagawad Jeannie, buong buo ang suporta sa kanya noon ng pinakamamahal na alkalde ng Bocaue, “Mayor Joni asked me na iikot ito sa mga barangay noong March 2020. Unfortunately, nagpandemic at nilisan tayo ni Mayor Joni. Pero atin pa rin itinuloy noong December 2020 and until now ongoing pa rin.”

Ayon pa kay Ate J, itinuloy niya ang proyekto bilang pagsunod sa kahilingan ng namayapang Mayor.

“Ibinilin sa akin noon ni Mayor Joni Villanueva na ipagpatuloy ko ang proyekto dahil marami raw ang natutulungan. Ako po mismo ay alam ang hirap na dinaranas ng nangangailangan ng dugo dahil sa aking yumaong ama. Bukod sa nakakapagbigay tayo ng tulong ay nakapagdurugtong din tayo ng buhay,” dagdag pa niya.

Mula nang mag-umpisa ang programa dalawang taon na ang nakakaraan, daan-daang bag na ng dugo ang naipon nila at marami na rin ang natulungan. Kaya malaki rin ang pasasalamat ni Ate J sa mga nakikiisa, naglalaan ng oras at nagbibigay ng kanilang dugo.

Kagawad ng Barangay Turo at kilalang civic leader si Jeannie Nieto. Nakilala siya sa bayan ng Bocaue dahil sa ginagawa niyang pagtulong sa mga mahihirap. Noong kasagsagan ng lockdown dahil sa pandemya, pinangunahan niya ang itinuturing na pinakamalaking community pantry sa buong Bulacan. Marami ang nabiyayaan ng libreng pagkain sa panahon ng kahirapan kaya lubos ang pasasalamat sa kanya ng mga Bocaueño. Pinarangalan din ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ang kapuri-puring blood donation project at tinaguriang “Bloodletting Queen” si Ate Jeannie. Malaki rin ang pasasalamat sa kanya ng mga pasyenteng nailigtas at nadugtungan ang buhay.
