Alam ko pa at ramdam ko kung gaano mo pinilit lumaban para sa’min nila mama at ate. Alam namin kung gaano kahirap pinagdaanan mo sa pagpapasada para mataguyod kami. Never ka nagkulang sa’min pa, sobra-sobra pa ‘yung binigay mo sa’min para maging maayos buhay natin.”

Ito ang madamdaming post ni Nicole Totanis para sa kanyang tatay na si Freddy. Napabalita kamakailan si Mang Freddy, dahil ayon sa kanyang pamilya, nagkaroon diumano siya ng Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) at na-stroke matapos mabakunahan kontra sa coronavirus.

Noong April 11, pumanaw na si Mang Freddy sa edad na limampu’t apat na taong gulang.

Hindi na napigilan ni Nicole na ilabas ang kanyang nararamdaman para sa namayapang ama. Sa kanyang post, inisa-isa niya ang ilan sa mabubuting bagay na ginawa ng kanilang tatay.

“Pa, I’ll keep my promise po. Di namin papabayaan si Mama. Lagi kong sinasabe sayo na mahal ka namin. Wala nang mag papatugtog ng 7am para gumising ako, wala na ding titingin saken habang nag ssteno ako kase sobrang proud mo samen. Wala na ding sisilip habang nag oonline class ako. Pa, lagi ko padin babantayan yung solar controller para di ma over charge. You may not be with us anymore, but our love for you will never die. We love you Papa ko. May your soul rest in peace.”

Ayon kay Nicole, March 29 nang bakunahan kontra sa COVID-19 ang kanyang ama. Sinovac daw ang ginamit na bakuna. Bagama’t malakas daw ang kanyang pangangatawan, sinabi rin ni Nicole na diabetic at hypertensive o high blood si Mang Freddy.

Kinagabihan, hindi na raw mapakali at makatulog ang kanyang tatay.

“Nahihirapan huminga, nahihilo, nagsusuka, matinding sakit ng ulo at namulikat din ang dalawang binti. Nanghina ang buong katawan niya. Na-admit at na-discharge din ito kinagabihan ng martes at sinabi ng mga doktor sa CCNMC (Caloocan City North Medical Center) na side effect lang ng bakuna,” ayon kay Nicole.

Nang sumunod na araw, hindi pa rin daw nagbago ang kondisyon ng kanyang ama matapos lumabas sa ospital. Nagpatuloy pa rin daw ang kanyang pagsusuka at sakit ng ulo kaya nagdesisyon daw silang ibalik siya sa pagamutan.

Dumadaing din daw si Mang Freddy na nahihirapan siya sa pag-ihi kaya nilagyan siya ng catheter na ginagamit para makatulong sa pag-ihi.
Isinailalim daw sa pagsusuri ang dugo ng pasyente sa dalawang magkaibang laboratoryo. Naglabas daw ang mga ito ng magkaibang resulta. Normal ang lumitaw na resulta sa isang laboratoryo. Habang sa isang laboratoryo naman daw, sinasabing mataas ang createnin ni Mang Freddy, at kailangan siyang isailalim sa dialysis.

Dahil sa kondisyon ng kanyang tatay, pinayuhan daw silang lumipat sa isang specialized hospital para matutukan ang kanyang kalagayan. Pero sa kasamaang palad, puno raw ang lahat ng ospital na kanilang pinuntahan.

Kaya laking pasasalamat daw nina Nicole nang tanggapin ang kanilang tatay sa East Avenue Medical Center sa Quezon City (EAMC). Doon daw nila nalaman na may dugo sa kanyang ihi at mayroon siyang Urinary Tract Infection o UTI.

“Napansin rin nila ang ihi nito na hindi normal ang kulay. May dugo. Kaya minabuti na iadmit na ito sa emergency room ng internal med. Sabi ng doctor na need pa obserbahan ang pasyente,” kuwento ni Nicole sa kanyang post.

Kinabukasan, hindi na rin daw maigalaw ni Mang Freddy ang kaliwang bahagi ng kanyang katawan. Ayon daw sa mga doktor, na-stroke si Mang Freddy. Wala raw nakikitang dahilan ang pamilya ni Mang Freddy kung bakit bigla siyang na-stroke.

Ayon pa kay Nicole, nagdurugo raw ang bituka ni Mang Freddy kaya hindi sya pwedeng pakainin. Hindi na rin daw maidilat ng kanyang tatay ang kanyang mga mata nito pero nakakasagot naman daw ng tama kapag tinatanong.

Negative din daw ang resulta ng swab test kaya inilipat si Mang Freddy sa non-covid ward ng EAMC.

Malungkot ang sumunod na sinabi ni Nicole sa kanyang post, “Kasalukuyang kondisyon ni papa : 3rd ct scan ay may nakitang pamamaga sa utak. Hindi na rin sya nakakausap. Naka intubate na sya dahil kapag hindi baka matuluyang ma comatose si papa. Hindi namin matanggap ang pangyayari. Dahil nangyari lamang ang lahat ng ito matapos mabakunahan ang papa ko. Kaya hindi rin namin maitanggi na maaaring dahil sa sinovac kaya nagkaganito siya.”

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng Department of Health sa kanilang Facebook page, nilinaw nila na hindi ang bakuna ang sanhi ng stroke ng pasyente.
“Following the conclusion of the causality assessment conducted by the RAEFIC (Regional Adverse Events Following Immunization Committee), as concurred with by the National AEFIC, the DOH and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today report that the COVID-19 vaccine did not cause the stroke,” paglilinaw ng DOH.

Noong April 11 o labingtatlong araw matapos siyang bakunahan, pumanaw na si Mang Freddy. Nakaburol ang kanyang mga labi sa kanilang bahay sa Lungsod ng Caloocan. Tumanggi na ring magbigay ng anumang pahayag ang kanyang pamilya.
